VI- Veronica wipes Jesus’s Face. Moved by Jesus’ pain and feeling deep sympathy, Veronica uses her veil to wipe the tears and the spit of onlookers from Jesus’s face. The Veil of Veronica holds an imprint of Christ’s face. The Veil of Veronica, or Sudarium, also known as the Vernicle, is believed to exist today in the Vatican and is considered one of the most treasured relics of the Church.
